Non-contrast T1rho CMR for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a genetic disease characterized by heterogeneous clinical symptoms and able to be visualized by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). Late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) represents myocardial fibrosis. There is still a challenge for HCM patients with contrast agent contraindication. T1rho CMR has been reported to determine fibrosis in myocardial infarction. To our best knowledge, no T1rho studies in HCM patients reported. We aimed to explore whether T1rho CMR detects fibrosis in HCM patients.

CARDIOVASCULAR MEDICINE Detection of apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy by cardiovascular magnetic resonance in patients with non- diagnostic echocardiography
Objective: To investigate the role of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in a series of patients with ECG repolarisation changes and normal echocardiography. Patients and design: 10 patients with anterolateral T wave inversion for which there was no obvious pathological cause who had normal routine echocardiography without contrast for the exclusion of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) als...

متن کاملInvestigation of Polymorphisms in Non-Coding Region of Human Mitochondrial DNA in 31 Iranian Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Patients
The D-loop region is a hot spot for mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) alterations, containing two hypervariable segments, HVS-I and HVS-II. In order to identify polymorphic sites and potential genetic background accounting for Hypertrophic CardioMyopathy (HCM) disease, the complete non-coding region of mtDNA from 31 unrelated HCM patients and 45 normal controls were sequenced. The sequences were aligne...
متن کاملMyocardial fibrosis in desmin-related hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Desmin-related myopathy (DRM) is known to cause different types of cardiomyopathy. Late gadolinium enhancement cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has been shown to identify fibrosis in ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathies. We present a rare case of desmin-related hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, CMR revealed fibrosis in the lateral wall of the left ventricle. CMR is superior to conventio...
متن کاملEvaluation of diastolic function by cardiac MRI in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: validation of 3D model-based analysis of left ventricular filling curves
Background Diastolic function (DF) is not routinely assessed by cardiac MR (CMR), but is critical for assessment of common disease states such as heart failure or hypertrophy. At present, special pulse sequences (tagging, phase contrast) are necessary for CMR for diastolic function assessment. The purpose of this study was to assess cine CMR volumetric assessment of DF using a 3D modelbased ana...
